Question: How long does it take Google to index my new Web site

Overview:

• Call from a friend about need for a web site to publish a story
• Receipt of eleven (11) page Word doc.
• Summary of objective : Publish the story as collected over the last year by investigators to inform and alert contributors to a charity with regard to ongoing investigation and allegations of abuse.
• Execution of plan by using a new installation of WordPress with four (4) pages & twenty-four (24) posts derived from the Word doc.
• Target blogs to get traffic: Posting on Blogger, a friends blog, and mySpace

Client History:

• Previous site, Miracle-ranch.org recently taken down, now offline.
• 9/27/07-9/29/07 : bought up target domains

Timeline begins 10/18/07:

• Friend calls and emails me on 10/18/07 to share his story
• Goal of ranking next or above the competitor’s site site using search engine optimization
• Getting crazy and promising top rankings in 7 days
• Kick off new blog website on Friday, October 19th, 2007; in the early AM
• Fire up Google Analytics on 10/20/07
• Get link in post from friend’s blog 10/20/07; comment on other blogs with related topics
• Joined Technorati 10/21/07
• Signed up for Blogger and MySpace on 10/22/07

Results - Good News!• Indexed by Google on October 21st, 2007, and again on 10/25/07 under existing domain• Excellent ranking using competitors keywords and name of organization and domain in 2-3 days; using new keywords.Followup on 11/10/07:

• Number one (#1) ranking in Google above competitor
• About 41 pages cached (28 posts and no comments)
• Increasing membership
• Client now in discussions with competitor about the original objective.
